This subproject maintains the research infrastructure and the experimental plots as basis for the work of all subprojects. It is responsible for
- the installation, maintenance and management of the research infrastructure (like weeding and mowing),
- the monitoring of abiotic conditions (e.g. weather measurements) and aboveground community composition and productivity of plants and the consumer community,
- using the confined, climate controlled chambers of the Montpellier Ecotron in France and its controlled measurement capacities allows to address questions which in the field could not be addressed. The continuous measurements of gas exchanges will allow analyzing if the long term effect of biodiversity observed in the field is also achieved under specific environmental or seasonal conditions.
