In this sub-project we investigate
- how plant diversity influences soil hydraulic parameters (for example via changes in soil organic carbon content, or change of soil pore distribution),
- how these changes influence water contents and vertical water flow.
For this we combine experimental and modeling approaches and we develop methods, which allow for efficient use of measured data in models of water flow within the unsaturated zone.
